Z is trying to fix my computer.   I fear that all my stuff is lost.   Writing my Blog on my phone is not pleasurable for me.

My happy for today is that was able to get up and get to work on time even though I went to bed after 2 AM.  So I am very tired after an awesome weekend.  Below are some of the pictures from the last court of King Ozurr and Queen Fortune.  The last pictures are the crowning of the new King, Luis.  There were many people who were honored this day

New York City

It is after 8:30 PM and we (myself, K and a friend) are still in New York City.  We left Pennsylvania just before lunch time and got to the MET Cloisters around 3:30 ish.  The three of us explored there until almost closing and then headed to dinner to meet our friend's brother.  After that we walked to an ice cream shop and are now headed to Connecticut to drop off our friend and then home.  I have work in the morning so I'm writing this and hoping to sleep in the car a while. 

It has been a super day touring around for K's birthday.  I really enjoyed looking at the tapestries and other art pieces at the Cloisters.   Although not the same series, if I had to choose a favorite it would be the Hunt of the Unicorn tapestries.  They are also very sad.  There was a little girl with her dad there that was a little upset that they would kill the unicorn. 

So not the same series is in reference to a series of unicorn tapestries that are at a museum in France, The Lady and the Unicorn.  K had a tshirt with a print from that series that I have now and I like it. There is a fictional book about making tapestries in period that I want to reread.

Pictures of all these things will need to wait.  It will give me interesting things to write about during the week.  Maybe Z will be able to get my computer working. 

Happy things are definitely visiting NYC.  I've never really spent time here.  Driven through a few times and took the Staten Island Ferry as a kid, but this was more of an experience.  Museums and food and walking are a sweet combination for me.

Coronation

My computer will not boot.  Tomorrow there may be people to ask for help but for now, no.  Instead this will be very short and I will hopefully be able to make a longer post about this day then.

Today my happy thing is getting to see two very special people becomes peers in the SCA.  One a Lady of the Rose and the other a Knight. 

The first court for our new King and Queen went well and I am hopefully for good things to happen.  They started a passbook for events during their reign and have gifts set up depending on how many Royal Progress events attended.  This is inspiring me to see how many I can go to in the next six months.

Hopefully more tomorrow from a working computer.

Coronation Here We Come

Directly after work I headed to meet K so we could drive to Pennsylvania.   We didn't expect so many road changes.   I want to assume the changes had to do with the GPS redirecting us around Friday night traffic.   A longer look at what the route is before we return is in order, Sunday.  Tomorrow is when I will find out if I forgot to pack anything.

The laughter and meandering conversation K and I had the first part of the drive is my happy for today.   We each got to nap on the way too.   Taking turns and sharing is the best.

Happy Saint Theodora Guerin Day

Rummaging through my stuff trying to pack for the weekend, I might have what I need.  If I actually get up when my alarm goes off in the morning I will have the time to make sure I have all the things.  First I need sleep.  At some point my brain decided to muddle my thoughts and thus make packing difficult.  At least I am finally starting to feel like this cold is ending.  Or it was allergies (which would mean new allergy medicine is not working) and the rain is stomping down the pollen. 

Happy things for today include receiving a bunch of items (largess) to take to the event for the Kingdom; I embroidered some today; apple cake; plans are made; and today was payday!!

Happy things- rain, rain coats, Gideon singing, dish washers, new tires, new brakes, sleep, tutorials, smart and generous friends.

Happy October!

Tomorrow I will feel better.  I will, because I am done feeling just a little sick but not sick enough to call in sick.  Also, I am going to Pennsylvania on Friday for the weekend and this sickness, or lack thereof, is ridiculous.  Today is also at least day 8 and colds are only supposed to last a week to ten days, it should be over.  So, enough complaining about this tiny blip in my health. 

It is the first day of October and day two with the new person at work.  This new person seems nice, but for me, the best part so far is that the more intense work is now shared between us.  This is my first happy for today.  Other happy things are apple picking, the dinner that was made that included apples, and the car I have been driving is no longer in the garage, foliage.
