Moon

Leaving this morning the moon was setting in the west.  It peaked through the trees like a guiding light in the distance.  I headed east, toward the dawn--and took some pictures.

Six more movies and then I can go and see the new Marvel movie that is in theaters.  They have all been very good so far.  The Guardians of the Galaxy movies seem to be the ones set up for the biggest laughs, Dr Strange for more of a story line and the rest for the action and adventure.  At least that is how I am seeing the line of movies.

My friend and I went for a walk this afternoon.  The weather wasn't freezing and it has started to cloud over with a chance of precipitation.  It was good to get outside walking again and the walk is my happy for today.   How I am going to make time for more walks is question.  😏

Spring is Springing

Happy first day of Spring.  We still have some snow on the ground but mostly in what is left from being piled by shovels and plows.  The temperatures today were mild and more of the snow melted away.

Tonight's Marvel movie was Dr. Strange.  It was enjoyable but not as fast moving as the previous movies we've been watching.  There was more story and less action I guess.  One of the things we have been wondering as we watch these is whether Stan Lee will continue to have cameo appearances since he passed away last year.  I found an article that may shed some light on this here.

Spring is my happy for today.  I tend to enjoy that time around a season's change.  Doesn't matter the season, it is that transition that brings new things with it that I like.

We had an extra audience member for the movie tonight.

Short

Another Marvel movie completed, Captain America: Civil War.  We are getting through them, one day at a time.  This one left me feeling a little sad over the whole civil war thing, but I don't expect that to last.  We plan to watch at least one more movie this week, maybe two.

For whatever reason, words are not coming easily to me tonight.  I feel like it has been a while since I had a creative idea at work so my happy for today is that I feel that I came up with something to help out a student with a presentation.  Whether it works or not remains to be seen.

Legs

Very little sleep was had last night.  A short nap in the car on the ride home from sewing made it hard for me to fall asleep.  There was no Dungeons and Dragons after work today and I stayed late to try and catch up on some things.  I kept falling asleep at the desk.  Thankfully the students had all gone home!  The teacher was staying sorting through things and kept making conversation to help me stay awake.  The teachers I work with are great people.

This morning I had a rude awakening that basically told me that I need to get out there and walk again and probably go to the gym too.  I was squatting at the little refrigerator in the teacher's room putting away some things and was wearing my backpack.  I had to work very hard to get up.  For a moment I thought I was going to have to remove the pack in order to stand.  I can still feel the tightness in my legs.

My friend and I watched Ant-man tonight.  I wasn't sure whether I would like this one or not.  The reason for this is just the ants.  Silly reason I know, but I enjoyed the movie and am counting that as my happy for today.  Now sleep for me!!

St. Patrick's Day

We participated in a St. Patrick's Day Parade today.   I don't remember the last time it took me so long to walk a half a mile.  ðŸĪŠ  It was so much fun.  Smiling and waving at the spectators and wishing them a happy St. Patrick's Day.  It was the first time that K has ever been in a parade.  I have been in many as a child in Camp Fire Girls and then as part of the Rescue Squad.  This is the second time I have been in one with the SCA, the first I was living in Texas.  K and I kept pointing out all the dogs people had with them.  Now that we have done this once, it may become a yearly thing, we'll see.

After the parade I went with the family to a sewing afternoon with some friends.  I didn't know about this to plan and just got to hang out with everyone.  It was a good day but there will be no early to bed for me tonight.

The parade and visiting with friends are my happy things for today.

Sheets

Rather than going to an event today I stayed home, watched Gideon, played games and did chores.  Gideon and I were able to play Minecraft with his grandfather in Texas.  Everyone else that we would play with was traveling or busy.

When Z got home from work he put in the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe from 2005.  Gideon and Z recently read the book.  After a short time and many comments from Gideon the movie was turned off.  Gideon didn't like the movie.  It was too different from the book.  I have to agree with Gideon.  Z loves the movie though and plans to finish watching it when Gideon is elsewhere or otherwise engaged.  😜

Some of what I did today was wash my sheets.  I forgot to get them into the dryer though and as I wait for them to become dry I know that my happy for today will be clean sheets, hot out of the dryer.

A Facebook friend shared this website article on grief the other day and I appreciate the analogy so decided to share it too.

Ides of March

Yesterday was Pi Day.  I got a McDonald's apple pie for lack of motivation to get (or make) any other.  Today is the Ides of March.  "Et tu, Brute," and all that.  It was a good day.  One particular student was set on making me laugh today and making school fun.  I had a hard time keeping them on track but everything we were working on got finished, so that was good.  After school I took a nap and went to craft night in town.  I did a little bit of embroidery while I was there.

Shortly after I arrived at craft night a woman gave me some cards she had illuminated.  They are gorgeous.  She made them so that K and I can give them as gifts to other baronages when they are invested.  As usual, I was surprised and not quite sure what to do when she gave them to me.  I did thank her, but because I seem uncomfortable she decided that she will endeavor to have something for me whenever she sees me to help me become more comfortable with this aspect of being a Baroness.  This kindness and generosity is my happy for today.
